Dental Veneers are fast becoming one of the most popular and effective dental procedures used to achieve durable, optimal, dream smiles. Before you undergo your Dental Veneers journey, you should consider the following information regarding Dental Veneers treatment.
1. Veneers are Not for Everyone
It’s vital to remember that not everyone is a suitable candidate for Veneers, some key factors that Veneers are not for you may include one, or more of the below:
- You suffer from severe gum disease
- You have significant tooth decay or poor overall oral health

3.Veneers Require Maintenance
Veneers are a long term investment and require maintenance for optimal longevity, post Dental Veneers treatment, CosMediSmile Dental Specialists recommend the following tips:
- Avoid drinks or foods that stain your teeth
- Do not skip your regular dental appointments
- Avoid smoking cigarettes

4. The Longevity of Veneers
Veneers are a permanent dental treatment, and when looked after, high quality porcelain Veneers can generally last between 10 – 30 years. In rare cases, Veneers may require replacing if tooth grinding, injury, cracking, discolouration or chipping occurs.
5. How to Select the Right Veneer Shade and Colour
When it comes to Porcelain Veneers, whiter isn’t necessarily always brighter, and a soft, natural, shade of white can be a more optimal choice. CosMediSmile Dental Specialists work closely with all clients to ensure the right Veneer shade is selected. Once Porcelain Veneers are fitted, the final colour cannot be changed with dental procedures such as Teeth Whitening and such procedures can fade and even damage Porcelain Veneer fabrication.
6. Veneers are Not Required for All Teeth
Whilst some CosMediSmile clients get both top and bottom Veneers, it isn’t always necessary, and in some cases, 8 – 10 Veneers may be a more affordable, suitable option. Generally, only the top 8 – 10 Veneers are visible whilst smiling or talking and therefore this is a popular option for those on a budget. You can view all of our Veneers package options here.
